Looking for a fun and exciting way to spend these dark winter days? Join our youth welding class and learn how to create amazing metal projects with sparks and fire! At this class, suitable for youth ages 12 and up, youll learn the basics of MIG welding, a versatile and easy-to-use technique that can join metal pieces together. You will also learn how to bend and shape metal into different forms and designs. You will work on various projects that will challenge your creativity and skills and you will take home your own metal masterpiece at the end of the class. No prior experience is required, all materials and equipment are provided, just bring closed-toe shoes and jeans. This multi-session class will begin on Monday, Feb. 3, at 3 p.m. on 窪蹋勛圖厙s Greenville campus. The cost is $325.

If your little one is more into the arts, check out our Mixed Media for Kids class. Develop wonderful works of art by mixing together art mediums within a single composition. We will be working on creating unique portraits, landscapes and still life art using a variety of materials. The class includes instruction and all materials. This multi-session class, intended for children ages 5 and older, begins on Monday, Feb. 3, at 4:30 p.m. on 窪蹋勛圖厙s Greenville campus. Additional one-hour sessions will take place at the same time on Feb. 10 and 24. The cost is $35.

Start the year celebrating new beginnings and growth with the upcoming Yoga with Amy sessions. As we move through winter to spring, we will make time for self-love and gratitude for our strong, capable body. We will focus on alignment with a breath to movement slow flow class. This is perfect for beginners or yogis to slow down. Building strength, flexibility and balance using asanas/postures/poses, beginner pranayama/breath work and meditation. Yoga students are encouraged to bring their mats, any props they might have and want to use and water. A few mats and blocks will be available for use. This four-session class will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 9 a.m. on 窪蹋勛圖厙s Greenville campus. Additional one-hour sessions will take place every Wednesday throughout the month at the same time. The cost is $50.

Did you ever wonder what it takes to make a stained-glass creation? If so, our Beginner Stained-Glass class is for you! In this heart stained-glass class, you will be creating a heart with a beveled center. There will be a couple of different options on how the hearts can be made. One option will have less cutting and you can decide on the day of class. There will be different colors of glass to choose from and all materials will be included. This class also requires standing for long periods of time. Safety glasses are provided and must be worn at all times. Closed toe shoes are required. This four-hour class will take place on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 9 a.m. on 窪蹋勛圖厙s Greenville campus. Class registration is currently full but interested parties can join the waitlist. The cost is $55.

窪蹋勛圖厙s Alumni & Friends Choir is a community and student non-audition choir that welcomes everyone, high school age and older, who has an interest in singing in a choral group. The choir performs a concert each fall and spring. The repertoire ranges from pop to classical, depending on the concert theme. The concert theme is Music of the Night by Andrew Lloyd Weber. Music can be picked up at the TLC/Ash Building on 窪蹋勛圖厙s Greenville campus. Practice sessions will start on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. on 窪蹋勛圖厙s Greenville campus. Weekly sessions will continue through March 22. The concert will be April 5 at 7 p.m. at the Greenville Performing Arts Center. The cost to join is $15.

Learn general skills in suicide prevention, cost-free, in this upcoming noncredit course taught by professionals from Corewell Health. QPR training teaches general community members to recognize and respond to mental health crises using the approach of Question, Persuade and Refer. The 1.5-hour training will include information on the unique challenges individuals face that can lead to stress, depression and suicide, examples of implementing each QPR component with someone at risk for suicide and information on how to help someone at risk of suicide. The class is on Feb. 10 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on 窪蹋勛圖厙s Sidney campus. The cost is free.

Learn two easy and space-saving ways to start seeds at home for your springtime planting. Starting your own seeds allows you to develop plans adapted to your individual garden conditions. It also allows you to select from a vast number of plans that are simply not available in most garden centers. Elizabeth Pitzer will demonstrate the techniques of both Soil Blocking and winter sowing, then help participants put together their own soil blocks and winter sowing mini greenhouse made from a milk jug. Go home with a clam shell box containing two soil blocks (total of 40 planted seeds) and a mini greenhouse containing up to a few dozen planted seeds. The class is on Feb. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. on 窪蹋勛圖厙s Greenville campus. The cost is $40.

Dive into the world of vibrant hues and fluid creativity with our Beginning Watercolor class. This class is specially crafted for individuals aged 16 and older who are eager to explore the enchanting medium of watercolors, regardless of their prior experience. Learn how to mix and blend colors to create a harmonious palette that brings your paintings to life. Step-by-step instruction is offered while implementing your own unique twist. Explore essential brush techniques and strokes that form the foundation of watercolor painting. Develop control and precision in your brushwork. Delve into the dynamic relationship between water and pigment. Learn how to control the flow of water and create beautiful gradients and textures in your paintings. Participants will need to bring their own materials, including 140# cold press 11 x 14 watercolor paper pad, pencil, blue painters tape, cotton balls, Q-tips, tube watercolor set or Prang watercolor set, two cups for water, a palette for mixing paint (an old dinner plate works well), paper towels, small spray bottle, masking fluid and small, medium and large round brushes. This multi-session class will begin on Monday, Feb. 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. on 窪蹋勛圖厙s Greenville campus, with subsequent sessions each Monday through March 17. The cost is $60.
